We are a cross institutional team working at the intersection of HCI, design, human AI teaming, and conflict support.

Yingting Chen
Yingting Chen

Yingting Chen is an Assistant Professor at the University of Tsukuba. Her research explores the cognitive processes behind meetings and develops self facilitation tools to support team collaboration, group dynamics, and decision making. Her work bridges cognitive psychology, organizational behavior, and HCI, with publications in international venues and journals including ACM CHI, DIS, and Thinking Skills and Creativity.

Julia Seitz Sänger
Julia Seitz Sänger

Julia Seitz Sänger is a postdoctoral researcher at the human-centered systems lab (h-lab), Institute of Information Systems (WIN) at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Her research focuses on designing adaptive IS for virtual collaboration in human and human–AI hybrid teams, and studying their effects using NeuroIS methods and experimental studies. Her work has been published in leading conferences and journals in IS and HCI, including the International Journal of Human-Computer Studies (IJHCS)ACM Proceedings (CSCW)ICIS, and ECIS.

An M.B Nguyen is an undergraduate student at the National University of Singapore

pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Data Science & Analytics with a Specialisation in Statistical Methodology and a second major in Quantitative Finance. Passionate about applied statistics and mathematical modelling, she leverages rigorous quantitative analysis methods to strengthen and support research design, evaluate frameworks, and evidence-based interventions. Her work focuses on turning data-driven analysis into meaningful insights that support decision-making and address real-world challenges.

Shuyi Cheng
Shuyi Cheng

Shuyi Cheng is a Master’s student in Management and Technology at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), where she worked as a student assistant at the Human-Centered Systems Lab (h-lab), part of the Institute of Information Systems (WIN). Her bachelor’s thesis, “Designing AI Assistants for Team Conflict Management: A Design Fiction Study,” contributed to the research presented at this conference.

How should future AI teammates support teams during conflict?

Through speculative design workshops in Germany and Japan, we explored when AI should step in, what role it should take, and how it can support teams while keeping humans in control.

We would love to connect at DIS 2026 and talk about AI teammates, conflict support, speculative design, and cross cultural HCI.
